Returning to Palestine in 1947 with Bob Capa, he wrote the words — first published in The New Yorker — and Capa took the pictures. The result of their collaboration was published as REPORT ON ISRAEL.
In 1961 Irwin went to Jerusalem to cover the Eichmann trial for the Hearst Newspapers.
